コロナウイルスによるパンデミックは、フィリピン人たちにとっても大きなストレスを与えています。沢山の憶測によって新しい国家による政策が生まれてきています。

労働組合からは、GCQというコミュニティ隔離下で換気が必要と定める施設に関して空気清浄機の設置を義務付けるように話が進められています。

しかしながら、いままで感染対策として利用していたマスクやフェイスシールド、さらには食料や薬などを買うだけで経済的負担が多くありました。

このことについて多くのフィリピン人は同じ考えを持っていて、「空気清浄機を導入するなんて高すぎる」「お金の無駄」と考えています。

実際に空気清浄機がウイルスの蔓延防止に効果的であるという証拠も出ていないのです。

感染抑制と経済回復の両立は、フィリピンでも同じ問題として捉えられているようです..

Workers say no to air purifiers

Pandemic gave Filipinos unstoppable stress . A lot of speculation has been discussed lately in the Philippines. One of the additional burdens that people thought about the new policy. 

“A LABOR organization is appealing to Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to reconsider the implementation of Executive Order (EO) 41-2021 which requires employees of air-conditioned and poorly ventilated establishments that are allowed to operate under general community quarantine (GCQ) to wear air purifiers.”

“Partido ng Manggagawa-Cebu spokesman Dennis Derige said they will write to Garcia by Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.”

“Derige said Garcia’s directive was an “additional burden” to minimum wage earners who instead of paying for expensive air purifiers can just use the money for food, medicines, or even for their face mask and face shield supply.”

Most Filipinos totally agree with Mr. Derige’s opinion. Air Purifiers are way too expensive and we thought it was just a waste of money. So far, there was no scientific evidence that it will be effective in stopping the spread of Covid-19.
