The pros and cons of the new system in education since the outbreak ofCOVID-19.

Wherever we go, education is always important because learning is a never-ending process. As what the saying goes, “Education is the key to success”. However, there are inevitable things that we can’t predict and one of those is a certain outbreak of a deadly virus that started in 2019 that made a number of people affected and died. Despite the said virus, the department of education in the Philippines searched and prepared some ways on how to continue the education amidst pandemic. The people in the department of education decided to have the classes online and in modular method so that they can prevent the transmission of the virus.

On the other hand, many parents and guardians are angry and some of the parents and guardians are happy because of different reasons. I have gathered some information about this new approach in education based in my own experience and other parents whom I know.

Positive feedback of the online class and modular lesson.

1. It saves time, money and energy. (No need to travel and pay for the fare).
2. Less burden to the parents to wake their children up.
3. No need to wash the uniform often.
4. The output is submitted online if the student chose the online class and the module is submitted once a week. (There is much time to answer the module).

Negative feedback of the online class and modular lesson.

1. Too much load of work.
2. You can’t ask questions/clarifications.
3. Intermittent signal whether it is Wi-Fi or data.
4. Parents are sometimes answering the modules in order to finish it fast.
5. Burden to those working parents.
6. Some parents did not study and they are not confident in teaching their children.
7. Students did not learn the lessons.
8. They can’t feel the feeling of the graduation day because this is done virtually.

学習には終わりのないものですから、どこへ行っても教育は常に重要な問題となります。 ことわざにあるように、「教育は成功への鍵」です。ただし、予測もできないような避けられないこともあります。その1つは、2019年に発生した致命的なウイルスの発生であり、多くの人々が被害を受けて死亡しました。 このようなウイルスがある中、フィリピンの教育省は、パンデミックの中で教育を継続する方法についていくつかの方法を検討し準備しています。教育省の人たちは、ウイルスの感染を防ぐことができるように、オンラインでモジュール方式のクラスを開催することを決定しました。

多くの親や保護者はこれに対して怒りを感じており、ただ一方で、親や保護者の中にはさまざまな理由で幸せに感じている人もいます。 私自身の経験と、私が知っている他の友人からの意見に基づいて、教育におけるこの新しいアプローチについて、いくつかの情報をまとめました。

オンラインクラスとモジュラーレッスンのポジティブな点

1.時間、お金、体力を節約できる。（運賃を支払う必要がない。）
2.子供を起こすための、親の負担が少ない。
3.制服を頻繁に洗う必要がない。
4.学生がオンラインクラスを選択し、オンラインで課題提出が週に1回の頻度でできる。 （課題に取り組む時間が増える）。

オンラインクラスとモジュラーレッスンのネガティブな点

1.作業量が多すぎる。
2.質問や説明をすることができない。
3.Wi-Fiやデータなど安定したインターネット接続が担保できない。
4.親は、課題を早く終わらせるために子供の対応をしないといけない。
5.働く親への負担。
6.子供たちに教えることに自信がない親もいる
7.生徒はレッスンから学びとることができない。
8.バーチャル上で卒業式が行われてるため、卒業の気持ちを感じにくい。
